Love the last line! It really packs a punch.

The notion that 40% of interviewees would not know how to write a simple program comes nowhere close to my experience. Of course my experience, like any other individual’s, is statistically insignificant. But I can’t help the question popping into my head when reading such a stat, “Where are they finding these people?”

If nothing else, it makes me grateful for my experience working at organizations with reasonably good batting averages (even if it’s just luck) for finding qualified candidates.
